Humans and their outposts can be found on more than 400 different star systems, but only a fraction of these have become host to our colonies. Most often, every world which is capable of supporting human life, regardless of overall comfort, has been settled by eager colonists from equally eager nations and corportations, dividing up resources and territory on alien worlds which have been patiently awaiting our arrival.
The return on such an investment has been neglegable in over 90% of recorded cases. However, the American arm of space has been greatly expanded in recent years due to the valiant efforts, (not to mention the unheard of profit-sharing benefits), of the Weyland-Yutani corporation. The last eight habitable worlds discovered along the American arm have been opened up by Weyland-Yutani explorer vessels.
Ranging dangerously far into the wilds of unknown space, an amazing 80% of these explorations have resulted in a rich find with their first attempts. Many of these frontier worlds have been quickly developed in an effort to continue reaching greater distances and make new discoveries.
Rodina Station is a deep space weigh station that acts as an artificial hub to connect and supply three other colonies.
Sygnus is the last colony world connecting Rodina Station to the network of worlds towards the core. This designation makes Sygnus their last stop for most ships before returning to the core worlds. Sygnus is also a world of contrasts. And is strikingly similar to mars in many ways.
Aliens PBeM: The ghosts of Sygnus is a collection of information concerning characters, locations, and equipment in the overall story of how man first encountered the horrifying alien xenomorphs. Contained within this site is background information on important locations, events and characters integral to the first few chapters of man's first experiences amongst the stars.
